Big Five Tours & Expeditions honored a second time by Virtuoso® as a sustainable tourism leader at the 28th Annual Virtuoso Travel Week

Stuart, FL (August 12, 2016)Big Five Tours & Expeditions won recognition as a sustainable leader in the travel industry by Virtuoso®, an international luxury travel network, during the organization’s annual Virtuoso Travel Week in Las Vegas. The Sustainable Tourism Leadership Award was presented at Virtuoso Travel Week’s final gala ceremony. Big Five first won the award in 2014.

“These awards are about changing the world,” Ashish Sanghrajka, president of Big Five, said in accepting the honor with his father, Mahen Sanghrajka, CEO and founder of Big Five.

The ceremony was held before more than 2,800 of luxury travel’s most prominent figures during a gala dinner at Bellagio Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. The event, hosted by Virtuoso® Chairman and CEO Matthew D. Upchurch, marked the culmination of the 28th annual Virtuoso® Travel Week event.  It honored some of the most innovative, revered, and top-performing travel agencies and advisors throughout the United States, Australia and Latin America, as well as the network’s global portfolio of world’s-best travel partners.

The Virtuoso® Awards are unique as they allow travel industry peers to recognize each other for excellence. The network’s partners vote for the winning agencies and advisors, while agency members select partner winners. This year Virtuoso® received more than 2,200 votes from its members and partners.

“The Virtuoso Awards honor the agencies, advisors and partners who are constantly innovating to create amazing memorable experiences for luxury travelers,” said Upchurch.
