Day 1: Arrive Liberia/ Bagaces, Costa Rica
Welcome to Costa Rica!

On arrival in Liberia Airport, clear immigration, collect luggage and proceed through customs. In the arrival’s hall, you are met by a representative from Big Five Tours & Expeditions holding a sign with your last name. You are greeted, assisted with your luggage, and escorted to the waiting vehicle for the private 1 ½ -hour transfer to your hotel for a two-night stay.

Cooled by an ever-present breeze and framed by a unique Warf Forest, Rio Perdido Hotel & Thermal River is a sanctuary of well-being, and the true embodiment of Costa Rica’s legendary PURA VIDA.

Day 2: Bagaces
Canyon Adventure & Tubing tour Rio Blanco

This morning, you will meet your guide for your Canyon Adventure, the innovative zipline experience with the Canyon Adventure by creating a zipline sequence that will please and surprise. It includes:

●    15 Platforms: 6 of them are rock-based, 9 are suspended on the canyon walls
●    A Pendulum Cable
●    A 50 ft. “Tarzan Swing”
●    A 90 ft. Challenge Bridge
●    4 Via Ferratas (climbing routes) with lengths varying from 15 ft. to over 30 ft.
●    5 Ziplines with lengths varying from 260 ft. to over 800 ft.
●    A Water Station in the middle of the circuit, so you can quickly refresh and catch your breath!

After this experience is finished, enjoy a tubing tour. The hotel uses modern equipment to help you safely traverse the river and get a real sense of the canyon and its magic. There are parts of the canyon where the rock walls narrow, and daylight is scarce. Echoes grow louder and if you remain quiet for a bit, you will find that you are not alone; birds, monkeys and, occasionally, some larger mammals will announce their presence. Look for the hot waterspouts along the eastern rock walls.

While most of the course is a mellow float through the canyon, this is no lazy river. There are a few hundred yards of slides and rapids to make for an exciting experience that adventurous travelers will enjoy.

Day 3: Bagaces / Monteverde

After breakfast, join your driver for the 3-hour drive to your hotel in Monteverde.

Welcome to the mysteriously hypnotizing cloud forest. This is the perfect setting for exploring the tree canopy and watching the birds. Monteverde is a breath-taking rainbow –covered valley in the clouds offering spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and Arenal Volcano.

At the end of the afternoon, your guide will take you to patrol the tropical forest and explore nightlife for an unparalleled experience in Monteverde, the birthplace of night hikes in Costa Rica. Live the forest in complete darkness and let technology enhance your ability to see and hear things that your own senses won’t be able to perceive. Your Forest Expert will describe and show how the inhabitants of the forest live and survive at night. End the night enjoying a delicious after-hours drink while reflecting on life in the dark.

After this rush of adrenaline, enjoy a picnic lunch on the riverbanks.

Day 4: Monteverde
Today you will have a full morning experience that will show you the forest like you’ve never seen it before. Your local guide will meet you in the morning and take you to Savia Reserve.

SAVIA is a sanctuary for nature, biodiversity, and scientific knowledge. Developed as a natural playground, SAVIA seeks to create an experience in which you can interact intimately with the flora and fauna of the tropical forest in a symbiotic manner. We bet you will love it.

Explore life in the morning by observing the different layers of the forest (from ground level to treetop). You will be guided by forest and canopy mobility experts to ensure safety and inspiration to all. You will cross a hanging bridge to access a platform in a tree where breakfast will be served, from there you can observe the ocean and you will descend on a rope. Complete your immersion with the visit to the sensorial garden.

Day 5: Monteverde
Spa morning
Over the moon couple’s massage: This massage flies you to another realm. Beginning with each therapist focusing on releasing and unwinding your individual points of tension via a full-body massage. Then, while one of you is anointed with essential oils, layered with warm seed bags and your feet wrapped in warm towels, both therapists will give a four handed neck and foot massage to the other. Then they switch positions. You will finish with a light foot massage and essential oil scrub and a relaxing mini facial to end your session.

Then you can enjoy time at the jacuzzi, just below the main building, surrounded by greenery in a glass-walled gazebo, which opens after 12 p.m., and the perfect place to finish after the spa.

At the end of the afternoon, meet the hotel’s experienced bartender who will tailor a Garden to Glass experience for you. Starting out, enjoy craft cocktails made in front of you along with explanations of ingredients, mixology and how mixed drinks evolve into art. Then, grab a basket and explore Hotel Belmar’s private gardens to pick herbs and flowers to use in your very own concoction. Finish up at the bar enjoying your handmade cocktail and bocas at the Restaurant, perfect timing to watch the sunset!

Day 6: Monteverde / Santa Teresa Beach

Your private guide/driver will pick you up today to transfer You to Santa Teresa Beach (4.5 hours drive) where you will be staying next to the Pacific Ocean.

Santa Teresa is a somewhat remote stretch of the Nicoya Peninsula and lined with tropical jungle that splashes onto its long white-sand beaches, this area is one of those spots that reminds of the Pacific Coast most of Costa Ricans grew up visiting: pristine beaches, small fishing towns taken over by surfers and just that incomparable great feeling of being at a perfect beach community where everyone is just chilling and enjoying the Pura Vida lifestyle.

This tiny and former best-kept secret of the Pacific coast has seen a booming increase in visitors that end up becoming locals as they fall in love with the place making it one of the most cosmopolitan beach towns in the country where both celebrities and modern-day gypsies have found a spot to settle down for a while.

Transfer to Tambor’s airstrip and from there you can flight to San Jose or Liberia International Airport and connect with your international flight. (B)
