Not A Cookie Tour Of India

Wanted to let you know our trip was outstanding! The Oberois and Taj hotels were phenomenal. The service, the food, the hospitality, the locations. The Oberoi–both in Agra and Jaipur–were 2 of my most favorite hotels I’ve stayed in over all the years I’ve travelled. They were gorgeous and the service was impeccable. The Taj in Delhi was lovely too. The tours and sites that the company arranged were top notch.

Our guide, Vijay, and our driver, Sunil, must be recognized for their superb service. Vijay was extremely knowledgeable and went above and beyond–when we had some extra time and he saw that we were the type to grab everything in, he suggested a tour of Gandhi’s house on the last day, which was great. He was personable, kind, friendly and answered any and all questions we had. He also had a unique way of getting us to experience the culture and traditions of the country–he wasn’t a “cookie cutter” guide but rather very thoughtful in his approach. For example, when we visited the Taj Mahal, he very specifically told us the way to experience its grandeur–even down to suggesting we shield our eyes until we got to a certain spot to fully appreciate the beauty. He shared details about his family to shed light on Hindu culture and traditions, and we very much enjoyed having him as our guide. We couldn’t have asked for a better person to introduce us to India.
