Focus – what we focus on expands, and that applies to everything from politics to adventure travel. At Big Five, we focus on the space between – between what is expected and what is unknown; between where tourism is and where we want to travel. Each of us needs to explore the space in between all the noise in the world today to find what is most important to us while we also strive to meet the challenge to use travel to better the world, to change others’ lives and redefine preservation and conservation in ways philanthropy alone simply cannot. To begin your personal exploration, order your copy today Brochure Order Form.

And get found with…  Your Travel DNA

Discover Your Travel DNA! Our Distinctive Navigator Analyzer or DNA offers a unique twist on the usual vacation planning. We have reversed the process currently accepted in planning a vacation. And they end up with their own personal Travel DNA Profile, a list of countries that we think will match their style and interests. These can be printed out for emailed to parents. This can help is starting a family conversation.

Map your travels differently – This Trio of  Sustainable Tourism Websites can help

We believe the power of travel can serve as a positive force unlike any other to bring people together and help save the planet. We developed three easy, user-friendly websites designed for travelers and travel advisors with simple rankings that tell you how the destinations we travel to are doing regarding sustainable tourism. The rankings are based on three pillars of sustainable tourism: environmentally friendly practices; support for the protection of natural and cultural heritage; and contributing to the social and economic well-being of local communities.

Galapagos.com  This sustainable travel website is designed for travelers and travel advisors with simple rankings that tell you how destinations in Latin America are doing regarding sustainable tourism based upon the three pillars of sustainable tourism mentioned above. We selected one of Darwin’s finches as the symbol and call the blog Wandering Finch, which will cover topics related to the region and sustainability.

Safaritours.com deals with our Africa destinations, which face entirely different problems and require unique and innovative ideas and solutions. The African elephant is the obvious symbol, and the blog for this site is the World of Ellie. Over time, their numbers have diminished dramatically due to changes in habitat, loss of migration routes, increased human settlements, ivory hunting and poaching.

Visibleasia.com encompasses the broad sweep of Asia and the South Pacific with topics related to these regions and how sustainability is bein envisioned there.  Like the elephant, the tiger,  sadly, was the easy choice of a symbol for Asia.  Once roaming across Asia, elephants have lost a startling 93% of their historic range in only a century. There is hope on the horizon for the regal tiger as conservation projects are being carried out across the tiger’s kingdom.  Visible Pause is the blog for this region.

We hope you will join us in the conversation.

Family Focused Adventures

We developed adventures crafted with children at the center of each of our premier Precious Journeys® explorations.  And, now we have just launched our newest family-friendly initiative – Precious Journeys® College Edition, which challenges tomorrow’s leaders to make a difference as they prepare for college, careers and future lives.  Visit our Kids section to learn more about the Precious Journeys®series. To read related articles and information, visit our Media Center.
